Blizzard API data

  • Ranked ladder
  • Match history
  • Profile

Blizzard API data is collected and stored in the DB. We aggregate the data, index it, and derive useful statistics from it. This data is displayed on different platforms such as our website and Discord bot to improve experience of players.

Blizzard data retention

We strictly follow the Blizzard ToS, which forces us to permanently delete the data within 30 days after it was deleted from the Blizzard's API. Bear in mind that StartCraft®2 leaderboards are deemed as public data(section 15). You can remove some of your data by submitting a data removal request to Blizzard, disabling 3rd party access in settings of your Blizzard account, or using the BattleNet data manager. We update affected player data of the last 18 ranked ladder seasons, other data may be removed when it expires unless it's updated from other seasons.

Revealed/Unmasked accounts

Account revealing is based on public data and will not be removed. We usually remove some info if users request it, but this is a special case because account removal will trigger a chain reaction from other users and the whole feature will be useless.

NO WARRANTY

SC2 PULSE PROVIDES THE DATA “AS IS,” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” AND THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO SATISFACTORY QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, ACCURACY, AND EFFORT IS WITH YOU.

Discord data

Discord data collection

Discord data stored
User's name, and discriminator(if applicable)
Used to display it on the website when the owner requests it.
User's id
  • Used to link user's discord account to their sc2pulse and Blizzard account.
  • The bot uses it to send important notifications via DM. Currently, this includes notifications about player reports if you are one of the participants of such a report (reported player, reporter, or moderator). The DMs are only sent to users who have linked their Discord account to their sc2pulse account. All such messages have a footer with the reason why they were sent to you. We only send messages that are really important, we don't send any updates, news, offers, etc.
  • The id is never exposed anywhere.
User's OAuth2 access token and refresh token
  • Updates to Discord Application data for Linked Roles
  • Determine user's guilds for the role management system
Discord data used

The following data can be used at some point, but it's never persisted, and is discarded as soon as it's no longer needed.

User's guilds
Used by the bot's role management system to determine the guilds it should try to update when new game data is detected for the corresponding user.

Discord data retention

Users can remove their Discord data at any time by unlinking their Discord account in account settings on our website. This also removes the integration on the Discord's side.

Users can also just remove the integration on Discord. If our bot receives an API error because of it, we assume that you no longer want to use our Discord integration. Your OAuth2 keys will be removed immediately, any related functionality will be disabled. If you don't link your account again in 1 day, your Discord account will be unlinked from your sc2pulse account, and any corresponding Discord data will be removed.

In other cases, we assume the users are still interested in our services, so we retain the data. Our use case implies that players may go inactive at any time for prolonged periods of time up to several years. This makes hard for us to determine if a player won't play anymore at all, or if they will return later. Also, some users like to have their Discord contacts up even if they no longer play the game, such as event admins, captains, etc.

Discord data modification

We try to keep your Discord data up to date. If you think that the state of your Discord data on sc2pulse is incorrect, then you can reconnect(remove and connect again) your Discord account to your sc2pulse account in settings of your sc2pulse account. If this doesn't work, then feel free to contact us directly.

3rd party connections

Such data are be stored in the DB according to the Privacy Policy of the corresponding service. You can remove your data at any time by unlinking your accounts.
